As veterans and lawyers, we recognize the need to provide quality assistance and service to veterans.  As a charitable organization, we provide legal services at no cost to the veteran on VA claim matters, and we inform them of their legal rights and privileges.  We also provide a forum for the exchange of information and assistance to veterans and their families.  Your contributions enable these services and more.

However, we realize we cannot do it all.  I have recently heard it said by a supporter that our organization is like the story about the kid on the beach who finds a starfish on the sand and is about to throw it back into the surf. An old man comes along and says, "What you are doing is silly, boy --- throwing one of those starfish back into the water won't make a difference because there are millions of those things on the beach ... and they're going to die!" It is then the boys says, "Well, sir, it will make a difference to this starfish," and he proceeds to toss the starfish back into the water.

The VA Veterans Crisis Line is always available to help a Veteran in need! Call: 1-800-273-8255 Press 1.

The Veterans Law Center, Inc. (VLC), assists veterans and their families on a first come, first serve basis, based on the merit of the case and acceptance by our attorneys, and we do not offer legal advice or representation in all legal matters.  We offer advice and represent veterans in a very narrow capacity, and only on veterans issues.  We do not offer advice or representation in local or state civil or criminal matters, nor do we offer advice or representation in federal criminal matters. If you need legal advice in these matters, please consult an attorney versed in those matters, and the VLC suggests you contact your local state bar.

Unfortunately, the VLC has very limited resources, so not all veterans and their families in need of assistance from the VLC can obtain our assistance.  This is why support of the VLC is so critically important to what we do and the services we provide!  In many instances, because of our limited resources, we suggest veterans and their families contact their local veteran support groups, such as the American Legion, VFW, or DAV chapter (a link to these organizations and others can be found on our LINKS web page).

Seeking legal assistance is a serious matter.  If you attempt to contact us, and you do not recieve a reply or that reply is not in a timely manner (within 48 hours), please understand we are overwhelmed with requests and we strongly suggest you seek the assistance of another organization, attorney or law firm, as veterans legal matters are time sensitive.

The VLC conducts legal seminars for state bar organizations, veterans and private organizations, and only provides legal advice and/or representation to veterans and their families on veterans law matters upon a thorough review of their case.  Prior to any thorough review, a veteran or family member seeking advice and/or representation would be contacted by an agent of the VLC, and a written agreement outlining the representation, along with a consent to represent and release information, would need to be executed.

Under no circumstances should a veteran or family member forward any documentation or release any personal information to the VLC, unless an agent of the VLC specifically requests that documentation or information.
